Single Versus Taken. Part 1

Single Versus Taken: Part 1.
Keeping certain freedoms that you had while single.

Obviously there are many freedoms that you have while single that you don't have while in a relationship. Though some things are necessary to stop, there is no reason to not maintain some sort of independence while in a relationship. I believe that having some sense of independence is healthy and necessary for everyone. Whether you're in a short-term or long-term relationship cannot be known, only time will tell. Either way there are some basic things that Every relationship needs to be able to last as long it can.  Which is why I have a few simple rules that Everyone should follow.

1. Establish a time of the day that can be used to get away from everything going on around you. Go to a quiet place and allow yourself to be alone for a hour or so.
Some people meditate, some listen to music, or even write in a journal. Either way, take some time to be alone and breath.

2. Have certain Days or Nights set to just hang out with friends. Have a Girls or Guys night out. It's important to stay connected to those who have always been there for you.

3. Keep your individuality. Own what makes you who you are.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing to blend some of yourself with you partner, but just don't let all of yourself become blended in. Keep your own Style and Flair.

4. Remain Truthful and Honest with your partner with what you're feeling. The best way to maintain a healthy relationship and some independence is to keep your partner in the loop. That way there is no confusion.

5. Find something that you're passionate about and work on it little by little. It's important to keep your dreams alive.

Those are all I can think of at the moment. They are all pretty basic. If I think of more I'll add more.
